GENERAL INFORMATION TO THE CANDIDATES
1. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the teaching positions in various departments of the University
Campuses at Tiruchirappalli, Ariyalur, Panruti, Ramanathapuram, Thirukkuvalai, Dindigul and Pattukkottai.
2. Applications from persons who do not possess the minimum prescribed qualifications on 31.05.2010 will be summarily
rejected.
3. If the number of applied candidates is more, screening test will be conducted and the candidates will be called for
an interview in the ratio of 1:5 by following reservation norms.
4. The University reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to a reasonable limit on the basis of
qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement and other academic
achievements.
5. The rule of reservation in appointments will be followed as per the Government of Tamil Nadu norms.
6. If suitable and qualified candidates belonging to Arunthathiyar are not available for selection for appointment in the turn
allotted to them, the turn allotted shall go to other SC candidates within the SC category on merit basis as per the G.O (Ms)
No.61 Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare (TD2) Department dated 29.05.2009
7. Reservation for Women and Special categories such as Physically Challenged, Widows etc., is applicable as per
the current norms in the roster.
8. If no qualified and suitable women candidates are available for selection against the Posts reserved for them, those
posts will be filled by male candidates belonging to the respective communal categories.
9. Candidates should enclose a valid Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Registrar, Anna University
Tiruchirappalli payable at Tiruchirappalli for Rs.1000/- for all categories (Rs. 500/- for ST/SC/SCA category) as
non-refundable application fee and attested certificate copies for proof of Educational qualifications, Age, Experience,
Community and Special categories.
10. Candidates should produce originals of the certificates mentioned above at the time of interview. Failure to produce
may result in not being interviewed.
11. Candidates already in Government service should send their applications Through Proper Channel with No
Objection Certificate.
12. The University reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies stated, fill or not to fill any or all
the posts advertised if the circumstances so warrant.
13. The appointee may be deputed to the departments at any of the campuses of Anna University Tiruchirappalli.
14. The candidate may send copies of testimonials from persons intimately acquainted with his / her work and character
and must also give the names and addresses of two persons to whom reference can be made. If he/she has been in
employment, he/she should either give his/her present or most recent employer or immediate superior as a referee
or submit a recent testimonial from him / her.
15. No interim correspondence will be entertained.
16. Experienced and highly qualified candidates may be placed in higher pay band.
17. Request for change of date of screening test / interview will not be considered.
18. Applicants should be prepared to come for a screening test and interview at Anna University Tiruchirappalli,
Tiruchirappalli – 620 024 at their own cost.
19. Separate application is required for each post.
20. Anna University Tiruchirappalli will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay in transit.
21. The envelope superscribed with “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ………………. IN THE DEPARTMENT OF
…………………..” containing THREE COPIES of the duly filled in application, application fee and all other
enclosures should be sent to THE REGISTRAR i/c, ANNA UNIVERSITY TIRUCHIRAPPALLI, TIRUCHIRAPPALLI –
620 024 on or before 29.06.2010 at 5.00 PM.

The Government of Tamil Nadu has declared holidays from 23.6.2010 to 25.6.2010 for all Colleges and Universities in Tamilnadu in connection with World Classical Tamil Conference to be held at Coimbatore vide reference cited.
In view of the above, the following M.E/M.Tech./M.Arch University End Semester Theory and PG Project viva-voce exam of Anna University Chennai (M.E/M.Tech./M.Arch./MBA/MCA/M.Sc.) to be held in June 2010 are rescheduled as detailed below:

The following candidates are requested to come for counseling on Monday the 21st
June 2010 at 10.00 a.m.at the Vivekananda Auditorium, Anna University Chennai, Chennai
25, India for selecting the branch of study and verification of relevant certificates for the
admission to B.E./ B.Tech. /B.Arch programmes.
If the candidate is unable to attend, the Parent/Guardian can bring the documents with
an authorization letter from the candidate.
The counseling and allotment of branch of study will be done as per the rank.
Provisional admission will be given through the counseling process based on the ranking and
availability of seats. The candidate will be permitted to participate in the counseling subject to
the satisfactory production of the following documents:
1 Counseling Call Letter
2 Recent NRI status certificate of the parent issued by the Indian Embassy of the
respective country under their seal(in original)
3 Employment Certificate of the parent (in original)
In the case of self-employment, nature of business, annual income and required
proof like Income- Tax paid (for the last 3 years), etc.
4 NRE/NRI Bank Account pass Book of the parent or printed statement
For last 6 months.
5 Valid Indian Passport of the NRI parent or Attested Copy.
6 Qualifying Mark / Grade list of the candidate(12th Grade and NATA in original)
7 School Transfer Certificate or Migration Certificate. (in original)
8 Bank draft for US $ 7500(US dollars seven thousand five hundred only)
The candidates are directed to bring a Bank Draft for US $ 7500 drawn in favour of the
Director, Centre for International Affairs, Anna University Chennai payable at New
York, if the provisional admission is offered.
Note: Inside the counseling Hall one person (Parent/Guardian) is allowed to accompany the
Candidate. Counseling process may continue till late evening.

by sending a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 700/- for General
category and Rs. 450/- (in case of SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) and
an address lable written in capital letters to which the application form is to be mailed.
Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering
Admissions”, Anna University Chennai, Chennai – 600 025 payable at Chennai.
